RETURN TO 711 WATCH
March 25th, 2005 - Awards ceremony recognizes the determination
and service of several key sailors during the collision. The boat's
corpsman, HM1 "Doc" Akin receives a standing ovation from his fellow
crewmen. He received the Meritorious Service Medal for his part in the
grounding response.
